GV designs cost-effective metering plans and systems that produce actionable energy information. We procure and install the metering equipment, then develop any necessary device software drivers to communicate with commercial or utility energy meters. Once they’re connected to your metering points, we perform data acquisition and transmission to off-site servers for storage, analysis and display.

We believe that with actionable energy information and action, local solutions also help solve global problems.

GV is engaged in an energy savings project for the U.S. Army at Fort Drum in northern New York. We installed data acquisition and metering equipment at Clark Hall and are currently trending data for that benchmark building. Since connecting the system and establishing a baseline of energy use, we conducted an off-hours site visit that identified energy savings opportunities to reduce overall annual consumption by 20%.

GV has set up provisional metering at a major industrial facility in Central New York, and has already uncovered significant nighttime and weekend electrical loads when production lines are not in use and when the building is unoccupied. We are working with the Syracuse Technology Garden, the Clean Tech Application Center and local utilities to build a fund to help install remote monitoring systems in industrial facilities across New York State to increase their competitiveness and sustainability.
